Wisconsin Baroque Ensemble featuring Patrick Terry, countertenor

*Sunday, July 31, 3 pm, the WISCONSIN BAROQUE ENSEMBLE will give a concert, in which we are joined by Patrick Terry, countertenor, from Opera North in England. Some of the most colorful music of the 17th and 18th centuries, much of which was composed by talented women, whom you can see on the displayed posters, will be excellently performed by my gifted colleagues. When Patrick, as guest, performed with us last summer, someone called out in mid-performance: “GET HIM FOR MESSIAH!

Max H. Yount received his undergraduate degree in music at Oberlin College, the Conservatory of Music, in Oberlin, Ohio. Next, he earned his Master and Doctorate degrees in Music at the University of Rochester, Eastman School of Music. In 1963, Max came to Beloit College to join the faculty of the Department of Music. He now is retired from the college. However, for this church, he continues playing the Rieger-Kloss Organ as pictured here, along with many other musical offerings. His responsibilities include leading the choir, playing the organ, the piano, or the harpiscord and planning the MUSICA MAXIMA Series.
